ITAO expo concludes successfully

The Information Technology Association of Odisha mega IT event that concluded on 10th November 2014 saw 40,000 visitors and 500 dealers ITAOattending the exhibition.  The five day exhibition was a success not only for the association but for the participants too.

Co-organized by the Department of IT, Govt. of Odisha, the exhibition received an overwhelming response by the industry fraternity. With media co-operation and extensive media campaigns, it became a success for the participants.

The main sponsor of the expo was Cisco and the co-sponsor was ASUS. Dayanand Rathi, Secretary ITAO. Shared his opinion on the event, ”We have received a tremendous response from the IT industry in Odhisha,  and saw almost 2000 people visiting the expo every day. Not only this, we have also distributed passes to people to visit expo and experience the look and feel of a mega expo. Our expo was covered exponentially by local media, media partners, and national newspapers.”

The   highlights of the exhibition were product launches, consumer products display, surveillance products, tablets, and networking products.  The expo had 9 pavilions and 52 stalls which witnessed huge crowds. “The participants did received good benefits from the expo as there were many direct customer deals done, 30,000 visitors were attending so there was an  opportunity to organize a lot of dealer  meets  as well.,” shares Arun Kumar Dey, President, ITAO.

He further says, “The expo was a good opportunity for the participants as well as for dealers and visitors, as all the companies were present on one platform to exhibit their products and new technologies. This was a chance to educate the visitors about them, which in turn helped the vendors and OEMs to increase their sales. The Theme of the exhibition was ‘Close to Customer’, which was apt for the kind of response we received.”

On the last day of the expo,   awards for various categories were also distributed by the association. Best Supportive Distributor Award was given to Compuage, Best Service Provider award was bagged by HP, Best Stall award was given to iBall, and Best Pavilion award was given to ASUS.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajput Ganguly, Sales Manager, India and SAARC, Cisco said, “ITAO should have been taken care of the time management, as the exhibition started late and the footfalls came late to the exhibition. But, overall we received a very good response from this exhibition and our Directors got the opportunity to share the dais with the MPs and government officials at the expo. We have also received good commercial benefits which we are still working on. We would certainly like to participate in the exhibition again.”

Arindam Mukherjee, ASM, Odisha, Brother International says, “The footfall was very good at the expo and we have received a tremendous response. We have made good contacts with distributors, direct customers, and have also generated queries from the exhibition.”

Rishi Tiwari, Channel Business Manager, D-Link informs, “We saw business benefits in the event, since there was extensive media coverage in local and national papers. Also there was very good footfall in education and surveillance pavilions. We have sold around 50% of our products in the expo and made good contacts with more  dealers and customers, even adding  12-13 dealers to our existing portfolio.”

An exhibitor, Sumitra Kumar Hota, ASM, Zyxel was also satisfied with the expo as he feels that the information and the products that were displayed in the expo were educative. “The information given to end customer was in-depth, and we see maximum participation of vendors in the expo.”

The other benefits that the participants took away from the mega event were the increased awareness of the new products and technologies among the customers and Government officials.  This has made sure that they know about the new products and technologies as well as about what the IT industry has to offer to the end users.
