Federation of Information Technology Association of Gujarat (FITAG), an umbrella body of 24 IT associations in Gujarat, is working towards benefitting its members, supporting IT industry, and create a positive environment for trade in the vertical.
Working on the objective to unify the partners’ community, Gaurang Vyas, President, FITAG said, “We are trying to do programs that address government officials in the IT vertical and create healthy inroads with them. Our goal is to ensure that IT is a part of every enterprise, and that each member reaps the benefits of new trends emerging in IT industry.”
The committee at FITAG is presently focusing on curbing the online price parity issue which has become a cause of concern for the IT players in the region. The association is trying to support the government in its endeavor to curb online shopping, since it also harms revenues for the government.
“Online traders sell the product without warranty and 80% of customers face losses in the deal as they do not get any warranty and service support after the purchase. To help our IT community and the ailing consumers, we have taken this movement to government and are also planning to move it beyond Gujarat, with the help of other regional associations. We have also written a letter to government to take this issue into consideration,” shared Vyas.
Under FITAG’s AGM, the association has planned yearly programs to help the members indulge in varied activities. The association will also organize social activities across Gujarat, and these will be finalized in the next quarter. Besides, FITAG also organizes commercial activities for regular business and call experts to share his knowledge among the members.
Some additional activities that FITAG organizes in a year include:
- Cricket tournaments with the participation of 300-400 members from Gujarat . The aim of the event is to encourage member’s interaction thus leverage this platform to help forge better business
- Certain motivational activities that engage members to give a helping hand in boosting their business.
- FITAG has also enables partner collaboration through FITAG Times, an E-magazine published for all IT traders. The e-magazine covers IT news, activities of the members and the member associations, discuss newer trends in IT industry and showcase interviews of government officials, CEOs etc.
