Veeam is a key component in many converged infrastructure solutions, providing vital backup, disaster recovery and virtualization management capabilities to enable the always-on enterprise. Combining Veeam’s products and Avnet’s market-proven expertise, these offerings will enable channel partners to more effectively address their customers’ business needs.

“The addition of Veeam Software to Avnet’s portfolio in India will enable our partners to offer their customers a deeper level of protection and availability in the critical areas of backup and recovery,” said Naresh Desai, vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, India. “Avnet’s expanded relationship with Veeam significantly enhances our converged infrastructure capabilities. Our partners will be able to capitalize on Avnet’s unique position as a distributor of HP, NetApp and VMware to develop FlexPod and Vblock converged infrastructure solutions with Veeam’s software technology.”

“Today’s digital ecosystem in India demands cutting edge technology designed for modern datacenters in delivering an always-on enterprise,” said Ashok Acharya, regional director, India & SAARC region, Veeam. “Avnet’s strong track record of delivering innovative technology solutions provides us the platform to drive new business opportunities with channel partners. India is an important market for Veeam globally, and we are committed to working closely with Avnet to enable our customers to leverage the full potential of virtualized and converged infrastructure. Together with Avnet, we aim to achieve scalability, collaboration and consistent delivery of our availability solutions.”

Avnet’s education services business, Avnet Academy, has also become an official Veeam Authorized Education Centre (VMAEC). Through this collaboration with Veeam Software, Avnet will roll out a VMAEC training program in India that will empower partners and customers to leverage growing demand for modern data protection. The VMAEC program is designed to deliver the technical courses required for partners, customers and resellers to achieve Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) status. The VMCE course is a technical deep-dive, with intensive hands-on exercises, that provides IT professionals with extensive knowledge of Veeam solutions covering areas including configuration, features, functionality and deployment. The VMCE certification not only provides recognition of an individual’s expertise in virtualization, backup, recovery and replication solutions from Veeam, but allows IT professionals to increase productivity and reduce the overall cost of IT infrastructure.

“Avnet Academy achieving Veeam Authorized Education Centre status in India is the latest enhancement in our Asia Pacific education offering,” said Michael Costigan, vice president, marketing and business innovation, Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific. “Avnet’s education services enable partners to obtain the specialization and technical expertise they need to capitalize on growth opportunities across high-growth, emerging technologies. We look forward to working closely with our partners in India, and across the region, to drive new enterprise opportunities.”
